Why VITIA Doesn’t Have a “Global Search” Feature
From a user experience perspective, a global search bar seems convenient. Type in a name, find a profile, and connect. But from a cybersecurity perspective, global directories are a massive honeypot for hackers looking to compromise personal information. By completely eliminating a centralized, searchable directory of users, VITIA removes the target from our users’ backs. Since connections are only built when a patient generates a unique, cryptographically signed token for their specific doctor, there is no master list for bad actors to exploit. Privacy is baked directly into the way our application connects.
